Flame Lion... again
Felt like staying on the lion a little longer. So here is another rough version of a modified flame lion. I need to try to force myself to simplify , which I did only slightly. I can't help myself. I'll keep trying.

mick: yes, it should... I have a hard time getting away from realism and making things more graphic, but I am trying!

Bottom left all the way. But you know this. Gotta transfer that half elips feel into the rest of the body somehow. The paws and tail are getting better.

I agree about the face...the angular cheekbones make it! Love the fluidity of the mane, too. I really think you tapped into primitive African shapes with the face.
