Flame Lion... again

Felt like staying on the lion a little longer. So here is another rough version of a modified flame lion. I need to try to force myself to simplify , which I did only slightly. I can't help myself. I'll keep trying.Edit: alright, I think I got the lion out of my system for now... here are a few roughs thrown together with some color

I like your sketches.
Do you reckon this lion should have a body as stylised as his face?

bslevin: thanks man, I appreciate the kind words.
mick: yes, it should... I have a hard time getting away from realism and making things more graphic, but I am trying!

Bottom left all the way. But you know this. Gotta transfer that half elips feel into the rest of the body somehow. The paws and tail are getting better.

Looking forward to the next subject.

I agree about the face...the angular cheekbones make it! Love the fluidity of the mane, too. I really think you tapped into primitive African shapes with the face.

It is a really nice draw. Specially the style that you give to its mane. it looks like it is in fire. You could be in fire with Generic Viagra .
